Mission Statement

"The Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1942 for the purpose of protecting and serving the village of Swedesburg and all surrounding communities of Upper Merion Township. To respond quickly and effectively to any and all emergencies and requests for assistance. The volunteer men and women of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company will always endeavor to perform their duty of protecting the lives and property of the community with pride and honor."

Yesterday evening Swedesburg Firefighters trained with other Upper Merion firefighters on our recently purchased F.A.S.T Boards. They are used in circumstances of a downed firefighter and RIT operations.

Members of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company assisted the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company with their Smoke Detector Blitz. Members assisted in installing over 150 smoke detectors in the area which undoubtedly saved lives.

On Thursday, October 21st at 16:00 Station 56-C was dispatched to a commercial building fire in the area of Saulin Blvd. Upon arrival Deputy 56-3 reported smoke showing. On September 1st, 2021 the remnants of Hurricane Ida struck the region leaving a path of devastation. This led to tornados and major flooding in the region. The Schuylkill River hit a major flood stage by 10 pm cresting at a record height of 26.85 feet.

This eveneing at 17:41 the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a building fire in Upper Merion Township after the working fire dispatch was requested from units on scene. Engine 56-3 went enroute shortly after with a crew of 3.

At 12:41 pm today the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for the 3rd alarm assignment to assist the Lower Providence Fire Department with a Non-Commercial Building Fire. Engine 56-3 responded with a crew of 6 along with Battalion 56-3.
