"The Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1942 for the purpose of protecting and serving the village of Swedesburg and all surrounding communities of Upper Merion Township. To respond quickly and effectively to any and all emergencies and requests for assistance. The volunteer men and women of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company will always endeavor to perform their duty of protecting the lives and property of the community with pride and honor."

Busy Weekend of Calls and Spring Cleaning

Members have been kept busy with a steady amount of calls and spring cleaning around the firehouse this weekend. Saturday calls included a fire alarm, small vehicle fire and two reported dwelling fire responses to name a few.

Squirt Goes Second Due to Norristown

A little after midnight this morning Squirt 56 responded as mutual aid to Norristown Fire Department for a house fire on the 900 Blk. of W. Airy St. Quint 27 arrived to a working fire on the third floor of a middle of the row house and began fire attack. Today at approximately 9:00 AM Traffic 56 was dispatched to assist Bridgeport Fire Department and Borough of Bridgeport Police Department at an accident scene. Traffic 56 and three Fire Police members responded. Members reported to the intersection of Ford, E. 4th, and Holstein Streets to direct traffic. Yesterday shortly after 4:10 PM, Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS along with Quint 54 of the Bridgeport Fire Department were dispatched to a dwelling fire on the 200 Blk of Tyler Rd. This morning shortly before 8:30 AM, Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS along with units from Berwyn Fire Company and Bridgeport Fire Department were dispatched to a Building Fire at the Lafayette At Valley Forge Apartment Complex. Squad 56 arrived and confirmed a working fire on the fifth floor. Squirt 56 and Rescue 56-3 made the response from Swedesburg.

Squirt Goes To East Norriton

Last night shortly before 10:00 PM Squirt 56 with a crew of 5 responded on the Working Fire Dispatch to assist Norriton Fire Engine Co. at a building fire on W. Germantown Pike in East Norriton. Upon the Squirts arrival the order was given for units operating to evacuate the building. After a regroup, the Squirts crew stood by until they assisted with overhaul. Once again, members will hosting our annual Lenten Dinners every Friday of lent! We will be serving starting Friday Feb. 16th till Friday Mar. 29th. Come in from 5:00-8:00 PM for some delicious food and to support the Fire Company!

Who doesn’t like girl scout cookies? Troop 701 will also be in house the first few weeks selling cookies! Make sure you get some while they last!
