"The Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1942 for the purpose of protecting and serving the village of Swedesburg and all surrounding communities of Upper Merion Township. To respond quickly and effectively to any and all emergencies and requests for assistance. The volunteer men and women of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company will always endeavor to perform their duty of protecting the lives and property of the community with pride and honor."
The New Car 56-3

On July 2nd of this year the new Car 56-3 was placed in service. The new vehicle is a 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV. The command vehicle is outfitted with sound off signal lighting, a command box, 5 gas meter, thermal imaging camera, and miscellaneous hand tools. Two Pins in a Week

Early Sunday May 24th, shortly after Midnight, Rescue 56-3 and Squad 56 responded to assist Berwyn Fire Company with a vehicle rescue on 422. Upon Rescue 56-3’s arrival, Berwyn’s Squad 2 and Squad 56 were already at work stabilizing an overturned vehicle with one confined. Members Recognized for Life Saving Efforts

At this past Thursdays Township Board of Directors Meeting, members of the Upper Merion Public Safety Department were recognized for their life saving efforts over the past year. Five members of Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company were recognized for their efforts on November 7th , 2025.

Busy Start to Spring!

From Monday March 30th to Monday April 6th, members of Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company responded to 29 emergency calls. Part of this was due to the week of the 30th being our turn in the weekly Township Duty Crew program that staffs the station from 6:00PM till 6:00 AM Monday-Friday, as well as all day Saturday and Sunday, to answer calls in Upper Merion Township and surrounding communities when ...
