This weekend, seven members of Swedesburg Vol. Fire Co. and a member of Friendship Fire Company Diving-Rescue Unit completed their Water Rescue Emergency Response Certification Training. This is the second of five classes to be certified as a Water Rescue Technician. Members started with a lecture and pool session yesterday. Today the members finished up with hands on training in the Schuylkill River. These seven members join the growing group of members certified in water rescue at Swedesburg. Swedesburg Vol. Fire Co. first formed our water rescue team in 1986. Since then, countless members have been certified in water and ice rescue.
