This weekend members worked with the American Red Cross in the Sweet Briar area of the township doing another Smoke Detector Blitz. Members helped install 119 smoke detectors in the area which undoubtedly will save lives and make Upper Merion safer. Later on that day members responded to a dryer fire in the Swedesburg local on Jefferson Street. The fire was quickly extinguished by Ladder 56 (acting stipend) and Engine 56-1 (currently in place of Squirt 56) without any extension and no critical injuries.
