It’s been a busy start of the week for the Men and Women of Swedesburg. So far, the company has responded to 15 calls and attended one event since Sunday evening. Calls have included numerous trash fires, reported building fires and fire police needed, to name a few. Sunday evening, Upper Merion Twp. Fire & EMS were dispatched to a trash fire on E. Church Rd. in Swedeland’s local. Deputy 56-2 (Orangers) arrived to trash and multiple vehicles on fire. Engine 56-1 and Squad 56 arrived and placed multiple hand lines in service. Squirt 56 was special called to assist with extinguishment. Squirt 56 placed a ground monitor and the Snozzle device into service. E54 from Bridgeport Fire Dept. was also dispatched for additional manpower due to the extreme heat. On Monday, members showed off Marine 56 and both Swift Water Rescue Boats at the Variety - the Children's Charity of the Delaware Valley annual community day. Members were joined by an Ambulance and High Water Rescue Vehicle also from Upper Merion Twp. This is a yearly event that Swedesburg has participated in over the last couple of years.
