Swedesburg Volunteers have been kept busy since Friday morning. On Friday alone, members responded to seven different calls for service. On Saturday members responded to another three calls including a working fire at the Red Lobster on W. Dekalb Pike shortly before midnight.
Squirt 56 arrived as the second due engine. Squirt 56 established a water supply to Squad 56, the Squirt’s crew was then assigned to the interior dining and kitchen area along with Delco Engine 15 (Radnor Fire Company) to open up looking for possible extension. Rescue 56-3’s crew was assigned to the roof along with Quint 54 (Bridgeport Fire Department) crews opened up the roof and assisted with extinguishment of the fire in the roof void spaces. Members were clear around 2:30 Am this morning.
This morning members gathered to go over ice rescue equipment on Marine 56. We would like to remind the public with the rising temperatures over the next few weeks, ice will become thin even though it may look solid. Please use caution while around the ice! |
