Early this morning right before midnight Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS and Quint 54 from Bridgeport Fire Department were dispatched to the 100 Blk of Riverview Rd of the local for a dwelling fire. Deputy 56-3 (Recupido) arrived in the area to a smoke condition throughout the neighborhood and heavy fire from the rear of the dwelling. Deputy 56-3 established command, the Working Fire Dispatch was transmitted bringing more resources to the scene. The high winds helped quickly spread the fire throughout the dwelling. Squirt 56, Rescue 56-3 and Traffic 56 all responded from Swedesburg. Squirt 56 was third arriving and was assigned primary search. Squirt 56’s crew also assisted with fire attack. Rescue 56-3 crew assisted with secondary searches while Traffic 56 assisted with scene safety. Mutual Aid companies assisted with ventilation and opening up for overhaul. One resident was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for injuries. The fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office. Units were clear of the scene at 2:30 AM this morning.
