Tree Into The Dwelling
Thursday, June 22nd, 2017
Last evening shortly after 4:30 PM a strong line of storms came through the area. Station 49 was dispatched to the unit block of Stacey Dr. in the Belmont Section of the Township for a tree into a dwelling. Chief 49 (J. Recupido) arrived to a large tree that had fallen on top of the rear corner of the dwelling. Upon further investigation Chief 49 found smoke coming from the roof. Chief 49 established Stacey Dr. Command and had Squirt 49 with a crew of 3 stretched a hand line to the front door. Pipeline 49 arrived and its crew went to the roof to prepare to open up if needed to. The crew inside using the attic access located the source of the smoke coming from above the kitchen area. Crews along with FM56-2 secured the utilities and opened up the ceiling to expose the smoldering insulation. Stacey Dr. Command added Tower 47 (King of Prussia Vol. Fire Co.) for additional manpower. Upper Merion Codes was also on scene to inspect the structure. The home owners were home at the time and escaped without injury. All fire units were clear of the scene by 6:00 PM.

Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company assisted Lower Providence Township Volunteer Fire Company during their annual Fireman's Fair. SVFC stood by at their station to run calls for Lower Providence Township on Friday June 7th and Sunday June 9th.

Shortly before 6:45 PM Station 49 was dispatched for a water rescue on River Road (RT. 23). Marine 49 arrived to a vehicle in flood waters. Rescuers entered the water to find one victim who was assisted out of the vehicle and brought to safety.

This morning at 7:00 AM Station 49 along with Ladder 48 (Swedeland Volunteer Fire Company) and Engine 56 (Upper Merion Fire & EMS) were dispatched to a house fire on the 400 Blk. of Coates Ln. Upper Merion Township Police Department arrived to heavy smoke coming from a house.

This past Saturday shortly after 7:00 AM Station 49 was dispatched to the storage facility on the 300 Blk. of S. Henderson Rd. for a water flow alarm. Shortly after dispatch the County 911 Center started receiving multiple calls for smoke coming from one of the storage buildings.

While clearing from a cooking mishap in the Belmont Section of the Township last night, Station 49 Units responded to a Dwelling Fire with Entrapment in Bridgeport Borough around 6:30 PM. Pipeline, Squirt, Rescue, and Traffic 49 would all make the response.

Yesterday shortly after 10:00 Am. Station 49 was dispatched to the area of Crooked Ln and Church St. for a reported trash truck fire. A passerby had noticed a trash truck in a parking lot that was smoking.

Shortly before 11:30PM last night, Station 49 was dispatched to the intersection of E. Dekalb Pike and Route 202 Southbound for a vehicle rescue. Medic 317 (Lafayette Ambulance & Rescue Squad, Inc.) arrived to a two vehicle crash and were confronted with the driver of the sedan trapped inside.

Today at 10:00 AM Station 49 was dispatched to the area of the Pep Boys on E. Dekalb Pike. Squirt 49 responded and was advised that 56PD was on scene with a well off pickup in the old Bus Station parking lot.
