Shortly before 6:45 PM yesterday evening Marine 49 was dispatched with Station 47 (King of Prussia Vol. Fire Co.) for a water rescue at South Warner and Croton Roads. A driver on S. Warner Rd. lost control of their vehicle after suffering a medical emergency and crashed through the guardrail into Crow Creek at Martins Dam. Three good samaritans were able to remove the driver from the sinking car prior to Fire Department arrival. The driver was transported to a local hospital Medic 317 (Lafayette Ambulance & Rescue Squad, Inc.) Station 27-D (Fairmount Engine Company # 2) was eventually dispatched and crews from both 49 and 27 assisted the tow company and divers from Chester Station 77 Phoenixville Dive Unit to remove the vehicle from the lake. 49 units were clear by 8:00 PM. Strong work by all on scene yesterday! This was Swedesburg’s 7th call to service since early Monday morning.
