This morning at 7:00 AM Station 49 along with Ladder 48 (Swedeland Volunteer Fire Company) and Engine 56 (Upper Merion Fire & EMS) were dispatched to a house fire on the 400 Blk. of Coates Ln. Upper Merion Township Police Department arrived to heavy smoke coming from a house. Squirt and Capt. 49 (N. Sturz) with a crew of 5 arrived to confirm the police report and found fire in a back bedroom of a 1 story rancher. Squirt 49’s crew stretched a hand line while the operator secured the hydrant across the street. The working fire dispatch was sent out and brought Squads 47 (King of Prussia Vol. Fire Co.) and 39 (George Clay Fire Company - Station 39), Quint 31 (Bridgeport Fire Department), and Delco Rescue 15 (Radnor Fire Company) as the RIT. Chief 56 (Rubin) arrived and assumed Coates Ln. command. Engine 56’s crew conducted searches and assisted with opening up inside. Ladder 48’s crew went to the roof to open up for vertical ventilation. Crews from 47, 39, and 31 assisted with overhaul. The fire was under control within 30 minutes and 49 units were clear by 10:30 AM. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation by the Upper Merion Fire Marshals Office.
