3 Alarm Fire in Lower Providence Township
Thursday, June 10th, 2021
At 12:41 pm today the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for the 3rd alarm assignment to assist the Lower Providence Fire Department with a Non-Commercial Building Fire. Engine 56-3 responded with a crew of 6 along with Battalion 56-3. Swedesburg’s crew assisted with overhaul and was released from the scene and returned back to the township at approximately 5pm.

Tuesday, March 8th, 2022
Shortly after 2 am this morning Upper Merion Township Fire and EMS was dispatched to a vehicle rescue. Engine 56-4 stabilized the vehicle and worked to cut the windshield to get the patient out of the car while Rescue 56-3 assisted.

Last evening around 6 PM Engine 56 and Medic 356 (Upper Merion Fire & EMS) were dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of N. Gulph Rd and W. Valley Forge Rd in the Valley Forge National Park.

Today at 12:30 PM Swedesburg Vol. Fire Co. was dispatched along with the other Upper Merion Fire & EMS Companies for a vehicle rescue in the Renaissance Business Park. Rescue 56-3 responded with a crew of 7.

Shortly after 11 PM last night the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the intersection of East 4th St and River Rd in the village for a vehicle fire after the accident. 56 PD (Upper Merion Police) arrived to a sedan fully involved with wires down.

At approximately 08:45 this morning Rescue 56-3 was dispatched along with George Clay Fire Company (Station 39) and other Upper Merion Fire & EMS units to a Vehicle Rescue. Members assisted with cutting the roof, extricating the patient, and securing the vehicle.

At approximately 08:30 Thursday 11/11/2021 Engine 56-3 was dispatched to the Borough of Bridgeport for a building fire on Hurst Street. Engine 56-3 made the response along with Marine 56 with manpower.

At approximately 23:35 on October 23rd, Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS was dispatched to the area of S Gulph x Arden Road for a vehicle fire. Both stipend engines responded. Engine 56-3 stretched a line and quickly extinguished the fire and assisted with scene lighting.

On September 1st, 2021 the remnants of Hurricane Ida struck the region leaving a path of devastation. This led to tornados and major flooding in the region. The Schuylkill River hit a major flood stage by 10 pm cresting at a record height of 26.85 feet.
