3 Alarm Fire in Lower Providence Township

At 12:41 pm today the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for the 3rd alarm assignment to assist the Lower Providence Fire Department with a Non-Commercial Building Fire. Engine 56-3 responded with a crew of 6 along with Battalion 56-3. Swedesburg’s crew assisted with overhaul and was released from the scene and returned back to the township at approximately 5pm.

Shortly after 2 am this morning Upper Merion Township Fire and EMS was dispatched to a vehicle rescue. Engine 56-4 stabilized the vehicle and worked to cut the windshield to get the patient out of the car while Rescue 56-3 assisted.

Shortly after 11 PM last night the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the intersection of East 4th St and River Rd in the village for a vehicle fire after the accident. 56 PD (Upper Merion Police) arrived to a sedan fully involved with wires down.

At approximately 08:45 this morning Rescue 56-3 was dispatched along with George Clay Fire Company (Station 39) and other Upper Merion Fire & EMS units to a Vehicle Rescue. Members assisted with cutting the roof, extricating the patient, and securing the vehicle.

At approximately 08:30 Thursday 11/11/2021 Engine 56-3 was dispatched to the Borough of Bridgeport for a building fire on Hurst Street. Engine 56-3 made the response along with Marine 56 with manpower.

On September 1st, 2021 the remnants of Hurricane Ida struck the region leaving a path of devastation. This led to tornados and major flooding in the region. The Schuylkill River hit a major flood stage by 10 pm cresting at a record height of 26.85 feet.
