Last night Swedesburg Vol. Fire Co. started our rotation as the Upper Merion Township duty crew. Crews were kept busy with five calls for service from 10:40 PM till 6:00 AM this morning. At 10:40 PM a vehicle accident with injuries was dispatched for the intersection of S. Henderson Rd. and W. Church Rd. 56 PD (Upper Merion Police) arrived and confirmed one patient was trapped, upgrading the assignment to a Vehicle Rescue, bringing the rest of the Upper Merion Fire & EMS companies. Crews from both Engine and Rescue 56-3 assisted with initial patient care and stabilization of the vehicle. The victim was removed from the vehicle in approximately fifteen minutes. Other calls throughout the night included assisting EMS, a Building Investigation, and a CO Alarm. At 5:00 AM crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire at S. Gulph Rd. and W. Dekalb Pike. 56 PD arrived to a vehicle well off. Engine and Rescue 56-3 made the response and had the fire under control within 10 minutes and cleared the scene by 5:30 AM.
