During today's storm, Hurricane Isaias Marine 56 was sent to Abrams Road for a water rescue of 2 occupants stuck in high and fast-moving water. Due to the volume of calls in the area, the Montgomery County USAR team was called into the area with their Water Rescue resources. The MontCo USAR Team responded to the scene to assist Marine 56. Both patients were removed from the vehicles safely and were uninjured. Within the township, there were reports of 16 water rescues that took place starting at 0730. Marine 56 responded to 2 additional water rescues after the storm both to assist mutual aid companies. We ask again that when you see flooded roadways to #TurnAroundDontDrown We also ask that when you see barricades up that you find another route of travel even if there is not someone standing with them. We understand this may be an inconvenience but this is for your safety. In addition to Marine 56 running multiple water rescues Engine 56-3 ran multiple calls including a possible building fire, and traffic 56 assisted in barricading flooded and impassable roads.
