2021 Year in Review

This past year has been a busy year for the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company. Along with running more calls this year, SVFC has made strides to ensure the best service possible to the community. Some of these include growing our Live-In Program (Established in Late 2020), continuous training on numerous skills, and completing Swift Water Technician Training for members.

Members of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company take pride in the station, apparatus, and the service they provide to the community. This past weekend members worked on rewrapping tools on the engine and also worked on replacing some worn netting for the hose troth.

This year Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company has been working on some very exciting news. We are starting a live-in program at our station. We are looking for excited, eager, and hardworking firefighters who want to live in a family-friendly environment.

Santa will be taking a trip around Swedesburg to see what everyone wants for Christmas on Saturday, December 18th starting at Noon. He will be joining the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company with his sleigh to take pictures and ensure everyone is staying nice around the holiday season.

Yesterday, members trained on different vehicle stabilization techniques with equipment carried on Rescue 56-3. Crews practiced using wood cribbing, Paratech struts, and Junk Yard Dogs with stabilizing vehicles that were on all fours, their sides, and roof.

Today members of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company brought in the holidays by decorating the station. Santa will be visiting SVFC for the Santa Breakfast on Sunday, December 12th (8a-Noon) and will be parading around town the following weekend on December 18th to make sure everyone is being nice...

On November 13th, members of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company and Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS partnered up with the American Red Cross to perform a Smoke Detector Blitz for the Swedesburg section of Upper Merion.

Yesterday evening Swedesburg Firefighters trained with other Upper Merion firefighters on our recently purchased F.A.S.T Boards. They are used in circumstances of a downed firefighter and RIT operations.

Members of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company assisted the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company with their Smoke Detector Blitz. Members assisted in installing over 150 smoke detectors in the area which undoubtedly saved lives.

On October 14th, 2021 Officers and Members of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company attended the Upper Merion Township Board Meeting for the announcement of the Upper Merion Township Firefighter of the Year, Unit Citation, and Years of Service.
